A scary moment during the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills Monday night football game as Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field.

Hamlin tackled Bengals wideout Tee Higgins after a 13-yard reception with 5:58 remaining in the first quarter with the Bengals leading 7-3.

Hamlin got up and could be seen standing for a moment and then falling down on his back to the ground.

Team emergency personnel and first responders rushed to Hamlin to provide medical care in what many are calling one of the scariest moments in NFL history.

Hamlin could be seen receiving CPR according to multiple news outlets.

He received CPR for several minutes before being transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Hamlin is listed in critical condition and the National Football League (NFL) provided a statement in regard to the incident that occurred on the field.

“Tonight’s Buffalo Bills-Cincinnati Bengals game has been postponed after Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin collapsed NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced,” the statement read.

Many of the players on the Buffalo Bills could be seen visibly shaken, upset, and having tears run down their faces as Hamlin was being attended to by emergency responders.

Many prayers and well wishes from around the league have poured in on social media to show support for Hamlin as he, his family, and the Buffalo Bills organization are in shock from what occurred.

The Dallas Cowboys showed their support for Hamlin and the Bills on their Twitter account.

“Sending our thoughts and prayers to @HamlinIsland and the @BuffaloBills,” the tweet read.

The NFL Players Association released a statement via Twitter.

 “The NFLPA and everyone in our community is praying for Damar Hamlin. We have been in touch with Bills and Bengals players, and with the NFL. The only thing that matters at this moment is Damar’s health and well-being,” the statement read.

Many players turned away from watching Hamlin in distress.

Originally both teams were told that the game would resume within five minutes however, both Bills head coach Sean McDermott and Bengals head coach Zac Taylor met with game officials and agreed to pause the game.

The NFL agreed to suspend the game indefinitely after more information was learned.
