2024 Presidential hopeful Ryan Binkley was back in Dallas Friday, August 18, speaking at the Young Republican National Convention at the Omni Dallas Hotel.
Binkley sat down with The Desoto Tribune at the convention to let people know why he is running for president and that his goal is to unite the American people.
“We’re in trouble. We need economic resurgence here. We need to revive it because we’re on the bad track record spending too much money, too much inflation, we’re setting our children up for likely the weakest economic foundations since the Great Depression,” said Binkley.
“Culturally, we’re broken we’re not solving big issues like healthcare reform, and healthcare inflation is 40% higher than regular inflation for 20 years, and we’re not doing anything about it. We need to solve our border issues. We need to resolve education issues and get people working again, teaching them trades and jobs,” said Binkley.
The Texas businessman and pastor told The Desoto Tribune that the country needs to get back to investing in teenagers in urban America.
“You don’t have to go to college to have a great career. We need to show them entrepreneurship, show them how to be a Craftsman, how to be a Mason, how to be an electrician, plumber, computer technology, or medical assistant, there are a lot of different things you can do, there are so many paths to be a success,” Binkley continued.
“That’s why I’m going to lead, it’s a new day for our country, and you can’t keep doing the same old things and so that’s why I want to lead this country as president, to lead our country, to unify and to trust in each other again.”
Binkley explained to The Desoto Tribune that America needs to unify.
“Our freedoms, our constitution, our very essence of being a country, it’s always in jeopardy if we stay divided, and right now, the consequences of our current path is not good unless we begin to come together and recognize we’re all Americans,” said Binkley.
“We have differences in opinions, but we have to start focusing on issues that aren’t just partisan, not Republican or Democrat, but American. I want to lead them in a financially prudent way, a way that gives independence and freedom to Americans, but I have to lead by recognizing, respecting independence and Democrats along the way so we can coalesce and get some things accomplished legislatively,” Binkley continued.
Binkley says he is looking to inspire and bring Americans closer together by delivering the message of unity as well as focusing on tackling the national debt, diminishing healthcare expenses, establishing avenues towards legal recognition for undocumented immigrants presently residing in the U.S., and enhancing security measures along the U.S.-Mexican border.
Since he announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election in April, Binkley has been on the campaign trail speaking to voters in New Hampshire, Iowa, and Indiana as he looks to keep building momentum heading into Milwaukee for the first Republican presidential debate on Aug. 23.
Binkley has exceeded his goal of reaching over 45,000 donors to qualify for the debate in Milwaukee and will join fellow Republicans Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Biotechnology entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, Former Vice President Mike Pence, and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott.
Former President Donald Trump has qualified for the debate; however, it remains unclear if he will participate.
From being a lesser-known candidate in the 2024 presidential race, Binkley is undoubtedly making a name for himself among his fellow Republican presidential candidates and potential voters.
“Three years from now, America is going to celebrate our 250th birthday, that’s going to be an amazing day. My prayer is that we’ll be able to do this when it’s all said and done, be able to say these words I don’t hear enough, “I’m proud to be an American,” and I want to see that,” said Binkley.
