DeSoto recently hosted its annual National Night Out, an event that brought together the DeSoto Police Department, Firefighters, city officials, and community members.
The gathering served as an opportunity for everyone to connect and celebrate the vibrant community.
Taking place at DeSoto East Middle School, the event attracted a multitude of residents, all sporting looks of joy and excitement on their faces.
The occasion featured police officers demonstrating drone technology and a canine unit giving a presentation on the importance and utilization of dogs in law enforcement.
Officers also provided tours of their armored vehicle that transports tactical units to more serious criminal activities.
To add to the festivities, the event served up delicious, classic hot dogs, garnering smiles from all in attendance.
“I think it’s wonderful, the community should come out,” said DeSoto resident Leon McCowan stating his enthusiasm for the event.
“This is great! and I really have enjoyed it.”
The event can be counted as a success with such a vibrant atmosphere and smiles and laughter from everyone who attended.
Pierette Parker, DeSoto City Council Member Place 2, emphasized the significance of fostering community relations with law enforcement in an interview with the DeSoto Tribune.
