A 72-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman are safe after fighting off a kidnapper and fleeing to a nearby home for help.
The incident began in the 5000 Block of Vernon Point in Midlothian, according to a news release.
Three suspects came to the victim’s home where police reported that one of the suspects was an acquaintance of the victims.
The suspects were armed and took the couple to an Airbnb rental home in DeSoto, according to police.
Once there the suspects tied the victims up and tried to gain access to their bank accounts, police said.
After several hours at the home, two of the suspects left the location.
The victims were able to loosen their restraints, gain access to a knife, and subdue the third suspect whom police identified as 20-year-old Noah Solomon Gulzar.
The victims then fled the Airbnb rental home to a nearby residence where they called 911 according to police.
Gulzar fled the scene before DeSoto police arrived but was injured, police said.
Police said Gulzar sustained significant injuries during the fight, including several defensive knife wounds to his hands and possibly a severe knife wound to his leg.
Both victims sustained minor injuries during the incident. Their condition is currently unknown.
The victims knew Gulzar from a prior business venture according to police.
Law enforcement agencies are searching for the three suspects who were involved in the kidnapping.
The DeSoto Police Department contacted the Northern Ellis Emergency Dispatch Center on Oct. 9 at 9:48 p.m. to inform of a possible kidnapping that may have occurred in the city.
Gulzar is described as being of Middle Eastern descent, and his last known addresses are in Red Oak and Ovilla, TX according to police.
He is wanted on two counts of Aggravated Kidnapping with a Deadly Weapon, a first-degree felony under Texas Penal Code 20.04.b.
Police believe since the victims and Gulzar knew each other, they do not believe there is a significant danger to the public.
The investigation remains ongoing.
