DeSoto, a city that is booming economically, has unveiled the final concept of a new high-quality aquatic and recreation center.
Named the McCowan Aquatic & Recreation Center, the 80,000-square-foot building will be positioned among soccer, baseball, and football fields.
The facility will offer residents a fully functional gym and fitness experience.
As part of a much larger plan to rebrand the city, unveiling a new aquatic and recreational center will bolster communal participation to new levels.
The new center features vibrant scenery, a leisure pool, stunning walkways, a welcoming community hub, a competition pool, and many more amenities.
There will be observation decks on the second level along with a 400-foot fitness track for cardio workouts.
The facility further showcases a fully equipped fitness area, as well as training studios for group activities.
The new aquatic and recreational center will allow for more capacity than its predecessor, which is connected to the same building as the city hall.
In a survey from the city, 44% of residents who participated said they favor an indoor recreational and aquatic center.
This facility will offer health and fitness support to young families and provide a physical and social venue for active seniors through year-round senior activities.
