The DeSoto Eagles head to Cedar Hill to face their cross-town rivals, the Cedar Hill Longhorns, in the Battle of Beltline on Friday, Oct. 20.
The Eagles are undefeated at (6-0) and (4-0) in district play and look to remain undefeated on the road to the playoffs.
DeSoto has outscored its opponents 318-79, blowing out every team thus far this season.
The Eagles have passed the ball for nearly 1,400 yards this season, while the national average is nearly 800, according to MaxPreps.com.
DeSoto’s rushing attack is equally effective in dismantling defenses, having amassed nearly 1,700 rushing yards compared to the national average of nearly 1,000.
The Receiving core for the Eagles has also amassed 1,400 yards.
The Longhorns (3-4) and (2-2) have won their last two games, defeating a tough Mansfield High School team 47-14 and Skyline 28-14.
The Battle of Beltline is considered one of the area’s fiercest competitive high school football rivalries.
The Eagles are 8-5 all-time against the Longhorns.
The Eagles have won 13 games in a row dating back to defeating Mansfield High School last year.
Kickoff against Cedar Hill is set for 7:30 p.m. at Longhorns stadium.
