The City of DeSoto is holding a community conversation about the city’s Comprehensive Plan and how it will guide future growth and development in DeSoto.
The community meeting is taking place Thursday, Oct. 26, at City Hall from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
There, residents will have the opportunity to listen to city officials discuss the plan and give input before the city council votes to adopt it.
The plan focuses on land use, transportation, public facilities, and other aspects that bolster community development.
The comprehensive plan will evolve over time, designed to align with the community’s vision for its future.
Comprehensive plans often serve as a strategic framework, directing the City’s decision-making for the upcoming 10-15 years.
For many in DeSoto who want to continue to see positive changes in their community, this community meeting is a good way to give valuable input to city officials.
Plenty of businesses have begun investing in DeSoto, from Waffle House, Beef a Roo, and the new Jenny Beauty Supply store, among many others.
In order to continue to get quality businesses to invest in the city as the DeSoto continues to grow, valued input is needed from its residents.
Community meetings on the city’s comprehension plan can give valued input from concerned residents on what the city needs.
Community engagement is what a city strives for and is needed to help foster communal relationships and community pride.
The meeting will be the final meeting on the plan.
