DeSoto High School Aide faces charges after Alleged Assault on Student

A Special Education Educational Aide at DeSoto High School is in hot water after allegedly striking a student.

Gloria Diane Lowe has voluntarily turned herself into the DeSoto Police following allegations of physically striking a special needs student.

She turned herself in Friday morning, Oct. 27.

The alleged incident was captured on video, according to DeSoto Police.

Officers received notification of the incident along with the video on Monday, Oct. 23, triggering an investigation.

On Wednesday, Oct. 25, police issued an arrest warrant for Lowe.

Lowe complied with the warrant and voluntarily surrendered herself at the DeSoto Police Department on Friday.

Following her surrender, she was transferred to the Dallas County Jail with her bond set at $15,000.

Lowe is charged with Injury to a Disabled Individual, a felony in the state of Texas.
