DeSoto Independent School District’s Katherine Johnson Technology Magnet Academy has earned top recognition as one of the best schools in the state,
According to USNews.com, KJTMA earned the notable distinction, securing a spot among the top-performing schools in Texas.
The recognition places KJTMA in the top 40% of Texas elementary schools, showcasing the district’s commitment to academic excellence.
KTJMA Principal Dr. Michelle Neely attributed the success to the commitment of educators and staff, emphasizing the academy’s dedication to fostering students’ potential.
“The educators and staff believe so deeply in our students,” said Neely. “We believe our students deserve an education that helps them ignite their own gifts and talents.”
“Our parents are amazingly invested in ALL children in our school! Like all public education institutions, we face difficulty and challenges. However, we are committed to our RISE characteristics: Resilience, Integrity, Scholarship, and Empowerment!”
U.S. News evaluated over 100,000 Pre-K, elementary, and middle schools nationwide for its 2024 rankings.
KJTMA earned recognition as both a Best Elementary School and a Best Middle School.
The ranking places KJTMA among the select few of nearly 1,100 schools earning both awards out of the 68,000 U.S. public elementary and middle schools assessed.
