Smokey Joe’s BBQ enters Historic Partnership with Breckenridge Distillery

In the Lone Star State, BBQ and liquor reign supreme, and when the two are mixed together, it creates a pair like no other.

In a culinary collaboration set to tantalize taste buds, local BBQ sensation Smokey Joe’s and Breckenridge Distillery, known as the world’s highest distillery and a top craft distillery in the U.S., have joined forces to bring a fresh and innovative experience to patrons.

Timely for the holiday season, consumers will be able to indulge in the festive spirit with a Christmas-themed cocktail and savor the unique blend of flavors in a cocktail crafted with Smokey Joe’s BBQ sauce.

The two have partnered to bring delicious and distinctive flavors concocted by Billie Keithley, the liquid chef behind Breckenridge’s success and the 2021 Icons of Whisky Bar Manager of the Year.

Keithley’s expertise adds a unique touch to the savory experience, promising an insightful journey into the world of craft distillation.

“We’re really excited to be partnering with kris, and we were really interested in working with a local business in Dallas and did some research about the best barbecue places, and we found him,” said Kelsey Bardach, spokesperson for Breckenridge Distillery.

“It was just such an authentic fit from learning his family story and how he came to be at Smoky Joes, and now working with him, we’re really focused on growing our market in Dallas, and bourbon and BBQ is just the match made in heaven.”

The partnership centers around Breckenridge’s Après Anywhere campaign, where the term is often used in ski to celebrate after the math of something.

 “So, with kris, we are really highlighting the afterwork and aftermath of cooking and barbecuing, smoking meat, and that celebratory moment where you can gather around a shared glass of bourbon together and have that celebratory moment,” said Bardach.

This newly formed partnership brings together the distinct flavors of Smokey Joe’s BBQ and the award-winning spirits of Breckenridge, promising a unique fusion that celebrates the best of both worlds.

Culinary enthusiasts and spirit connoisseurs can look forward to an array of exclusive offerings as the two establishments collaborate on crafting exceptional cocktails and culinary delights.

“We’re very grateful that they reached out to us and wanted to build a partnership, but not only that they invested into the partnership with us, and so that is a really big deal,” said Kris Manning, owner of Smokey Joe’s.
