In a momentous ceremony at AT&T Stadium, the Dallas Cowboys proudly honored legendary head coach Jimmy Johnson, inducting him into the revered Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor after three decades.

Halftime was pretty emotional during the Cowboys and Detroit Lions game as the Hall of Fame and legendary coach was finally inducted into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor.

Johnson’s name is forever enshrined next to iconic coach Tom Landry.

He was joined by former players, fans, and football dignitaries and owner Jerry Jones who praised Johnson for the impact of his leadership on the iconic franchise.

“Jimmy, I want you to know that not only did you inspire our players, and certainly you inspired our fans, but you need to hear me say how much you personally inspired me always, so for now and evermore, Jimmy Johnson is going to be right here with Tom Landry. Going to be here with some of the greatest names in history, rightfully so. Welcome to the ring of honor, said Jones.”

Johnson, who coached the Cowboys from 1989 to 1993, left an indelible mark with two consecutive Super Bowl victories in 1992 and 1993, solidifying his legacy as one of the most successful coaches in the team’s history.

Known for his strategic brilliance and player development, Johnson’s tenure set the stage for the Cowboys’ dominance in the early ’90s.

The induction ceremony was a poignant moment for the 78-year-old coaching maestro, who expressed gratitude for the honor.

“I want to thank Dallas Cowboys fans, the millions of cowboy fans, and the millions that despise the cowboy fans,” said Johnson to the excited crowd.

“Because all of you, is what makes this game so great, thank you, thank you, thank you, and I just got one more thing to say. How bout them Cowboys!”

Johnson’s name now joins an elite list in the Ring of Honor, commemorating his enduring impact on the Cowboys’ storied legacy.

The induction not only recognizes Johnson’s coaching and commitment to the organization but also underscores his lasting contribution to the rich tapestry of Dallas Cowboys history.
