Dallas-based Vista-Bank is launching a new location along with a financial literacy center on MLK Boulevard in southern Dallas.
The new location will be at the intersection of MLK Blvd. and J. B. Jackson in Fair Park and will house new office space for the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce and SDFP Innovation Center.
Recognizing the need to address the financial requirements of South Dallas residents, Vista Bank’s leadership has allocated substantial resources to drive innovation in this area.
Lubbock Smith III, Vice President, Director of Community Development, and Vista Outreach, a local resident and Dallas Carter High School graduate, is spearheading these efforts.
“I am beyond excited for the opening of our South Dallas Banking Center. Growing up an Oak Cliff native, now South Dallas resident, I’ve chosen to work and raise my family here because I want to help other elevate in my local community,” said Smith.
“When I first met John and saw his passion to do the same, I knew his vision complemented my own which was no coincidence. Small business is the best hope to see generational wealth created in South Dallas, and I am humbled to serve a company who is as committed to furthering that pursuit as I am,” added Smith.
Collaborating closely with Vista President and CEO John D. Steinmetz, Smith envisioned engaging community leaders, investing in schools, and providing financial literacy training.
Vista Bank’s commitment extended to sponsorship roles, notably as the Title Sponsor for Camp Exposure, supporting high school athletes’ development.
The bank also sponsored a digital board at Dallas Carter High School, showcasing the school’s heritage and offering financial literacy tips.
The new Fair Park location marks Vista Bank’s largest footprint in three decades.
It will house not only a Banking Center, the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce, and the SDFP Innovation Center, but also Southern Dallas Progress.
The Financial Literacy Center aims to provide year-round training to students, families, and small businesses.
“I am beyond thrilled that Vista Bank has announced the opening of a Branch in South Dallas,” stated District 7 Dallas City Councilman Adam Bazaldua.
“The commitment to our community and investment in resources is going to touch District 7 in ways unseen before.
