Training Center named after Local Hero and Longtime Firefighter

Longtime DeSoto firefighter Joe Brown was given the distinctive praise of having the DeSoto Fire Training Center renamed in his honor.

It may have been windy, but the skies were sunny and clear as the city honored Brown for his longtime service to the community.

Brown, having been a firefighter for over 30 years, was joined by friends, family, and fellow firefighters Wednesday morning as his name had been etched into the building.

The training center serves as a central hub for nearby neighboring city’s fire departments to train.
