As tensions mount in the Middle East, Israel has carried out another missile strike on an Iranian airbase early Friday morning, according to U.S. officials.
The attack comes after Iran sent hundreds of missiles into Israel in retaliation for an attack on an Iranian compound in Syria.
The attack was carried out on an Iranian airbase in the Isfahan region, with Iran downplaying the extent of any damage that might have occurred.
Satellite images of the attack aftermath showed significant damage to a radar system near a secretive Iranian nuclear site as reported by The Times of Israel.
Images of the aftermath were scene via social media and appeared to show destroyed remains of what was reported to be an anti-aircraft mobile radar station.
Imagery of the attack could be seen in the satellite image published by Iran International.
Israeli officials have not given a comment on the strike.
Tensions continue to rise between Iran and Israel as Israeli forces continue to conduct military campaigns against Iranian-backed Hamas in Gaza, demanding the release of 133 hostages.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a statement just before Passover on Sunday, vowing to “strike it with additional painful blows.”
“In the coming days, we will increase the military and diplomatic pressure on Hamas because this is the only way to free our hostages and achieve our victory,” Netanyahu said in the statement.
The U.S. and other Western allies have cautioned and pressured Israel not to take any action that risks turning the long-running proxy war between the two Middle East rivals into a direct conflict.
