DeSoto, it is that time of year again as the DeSoto Park and Recreation is hosting its annual Crawfish Festival.
The vibrant aroma of freshly boiled crawfish and the lively sounds of zydeco music will fill the air at Grimes Park on Saturday, June 1st.
It’s time for the Annual Crawfish Festival, a beloved family-friendly and community event celebrating Louisiana’s rich culinary heritage.
The festival looks to be a feast for the senses, with crawfish taking center stage.
Mounds of crimson crustaceans piled high, their spicy aroma enticing visitors from all around the city.
Whether you’re a seasoned crawfish enthusiast or a curious first-timer, this festival is a chance to savor these delectable mudbugs.
Alongside the crawfish, there will be golden ears of corn on the cob.
Eventgoers will be able to sink their teeth into sweet, buttery kernels while enjoying the lively atmosphere.
The festival will also feature two incredible bands that are set to entertain festival-goers.
Leon Chavis and the Inspiration Band are set to deliver a memorable performance to dance to their infectious zydeco tunes.
Festival attendees will also be treated to music from Guyz Nite Out Band featuring Sean G.
This versatile band blends zydeco, blues, and soul.
Sean G.’s soulful vocals will captivate the audience, making it impossible to stay seated.
The festival kicks off at 6 PM and continues until 9:30 PM.
Admission is free, and food tickets can be purchased on-site.
Come hungry, bring your dancing shoes, and join the community in celebrating crawfish, corn, and community togetherness.
Shuttle services are available and will begin from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Service will be provided at Disciple Central Community Church at 901 N. Polk St.
If inclement weather occurs, the decision to relocate to the DeSoto Recreation Center will be made by 2 PM on the day of the event.
