The Best Southwest Communities of Duncanville, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, and Lancaster are coming together for their annual Juneteenth Celebration.
This year’s event will be hosted by the City of Cedar Hill on Saturday, June 15, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Valley Ridge Park.
The celebration will feature a wide range of activities and attractions designed to honor African American history, culture, and achievements.
Attendees can look forward to five hours of live music performed by some of the area’s top musicians, providing an entertaining and festive atmosphere throughout the evening.
This year’s event will feature a performance by the renowned R&B band Atlantic Starr, promising an evening of unforgettable entertainment.
In addition to the musical performances, the event will showcase delectable foods from local vendors that will satisfy any palate.
Families can enjoy a variety of vendor booths, offering a range of products and services, as well as bounce houses for children, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The celebration, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, will offer a variety of activities for attendees of all ages.
In addition, the event will showcase a range of arts and crafts from local artisans to display and sell their work.
Live musical entertainment will be a highlight of the celebration, with additional performances from The Original Pinettes Brass Band, the only female Brass Band in the Universe, We Them Grays, a soul-funk fusion band, and the Paul Cannon Band.
The soulful celebration is expected to draw large crowds, adding to the festive atmosphere.
