The Dallas Zoo is adjusting its hours to better accommodate and provide an optimal summer experience for its visitors.
Starting Monday, July 8, to Friday, August 30, the Zoo will open at 8 a.m. and close at 3 p.m.
The last ticketed entry will be at 1 p.m. during this period.
The changes aim to limit exposure to the heat and ensure the comfort and well-being of guests, staff, and animals.
Visitors are encouraged to make the most of their time at the Zoo with several new attractions and amenities:
- Cooling Comfort: Enjoy the newly installed mister fans at six major habitats and locations around the Zoo, providing a refreshing break from the heat.
- Dino Adventures: Experience the “Destination: Dinosaurs Presented by Reliant” exhibit, which concludes at the end of September. Early mornings are ideal for exploring this large immersive dinosaur exhibit.
- Virtual Reality Films: Check out the new films available on the Zoo’s Wild Explorer VR experience, including treks with gorillas, adventures in the Serengeti, and underwater explorations with humpbacks and sharks.
Additionally, the Zoo will host two Dollar Days this summer: Thursday, July 18, and Tuesday, August 6.
Admission will be just $1 on these days, with special deals on snacks and beverages at pop-up areas throughout the Zoo.
The first Dollar Day is nearing sellout, but tickets are still available for the August event.
Visitors can purchase tickets online to secure their spot.
