DeSoto Addresses Rumors on Proposed Lithium Battery Facility

Following rumors that Vesper Energy has reportedly notified residents that the city supports the proposed lithium battery facility near DeSoto High School, the city has released a statement.

The DeSoto Tribune spoke with Alex Rohr, Manager of Community Affairs for Vesper Energy in early July about the proposed facility and its location.

The proposed storage facility would place a lithium-ion energy storage facility near DeSoto High School and neighboring residential areas.

A petition opposing the proposed facility was created and has garnered just over 400 signatures.
