DeSoto Police and Fire Weekly Incident Reports for July 28 – Aug 3

The DeSoto Police and Fire Departments have issued their weekly public safety reports, covering the period from July 28 to August 3, 2024.

The DeSoto Police Department responded to a total of 1,936 calls during the week.

Neighborhood patrols accounted for the largest share, with 608 calls, followed by 274 directed patrol calls.

In addition to patrol activities, the department handled 188 business-related calls.

The police also responded to 62 animal-related incidents, 65 reports of suspicious activities, and 251 traffic-related calls.

The DeSoto Fire Department’s report for the same period detailed a total of 216 incidents.

The majority of these incidents, 158 in total, were categorized as “Rescue and EMS” calls.

Other significant incidents included 22 “Good Intent Calls,” 18 “Service Calls,” and nine “False Alarms.”

The fire department also responded to five fire-related incidents, four hazardous conditions, and three incidents involving overpressure ruptures, explosions, or overheating.

These reports provide a comprehensive overview of the public safety efforts in DeSoto.

The report is meant to highlight the continuous efforts of the police department and fire department in managing a wide range of emergencies and service calls.
