The Dallas Cowboys have strengthened their roster by signing veteran running back Dalvin Cook, a four-time Pro Bowl selection.
Cook’s agency, LAA12, announced the signing on Wednesday, August 28.
Cook, who has previously played for the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, and Baltimore Ravens, is widely recognized for his speed and versatility on the field.
During his time with the Vikings, Cook emerged as one of the league’s leading running backs.
Last season, he split his playing time between the Jets and Ravens, accumulating 214 yards on 67 carries.
The Cowboys’ decision to bring Cook on board enhances their running back depth as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Initially, Cook is expected to join the practice squad, providing a veteran presence and additional support for the Cowboys’ star running back, Ezekiel Elliott.
Dalvin Cook expressed his excitement about the new opportunity, noting that he had been waiting for the right moment and felt a strong connection with Dallas.
While the specific terms of Cook’s contract have not been disclosed, reports suggest it is likely a one-year deal.
As the Cowboys look ahead to the new season, the addition of Cook is expected to add a fresh dynamic to their offense.
The addition of Cook positions the Cowboys as stronger contenders in an already competitive NFC East.
Dallas continues to make headlines across the world as just on Tuesday, the Cowboys resigned star wideout CeeDee Lamb to a contract extension.
Lamb’s contract extension is valued at $136 million over four years.
