The City of DeSoto is hosting its annual “Keep DeSoto Beautiful” Trash Pickup Day on October 5, 2024, from 9 AM to 12 PM.
Organized by DeSoto Parks and Recreation and the Keep DeSoto Beautiful Committee, the event aims to promote community pride by cleaning up key locations across the city.
Volunteers will meet at designated locations and help beautify both public areas and around DeSoto High School.
Participants in the City Cleanup will gather at one of the four meet-up locations:
- 731 W. Beltline Rd.
- 1510 N. Hampton Rd.
- 901 N. Polk St.
- 108 W. Parkerville Rd.In addition, the DeSoto High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association (DHS PTSA) is sponsoring a High School Cleanup.
Small groups will meet at the DHS 9th-grade parking lot at 8:30 AM to tackle areas around the school. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to earn community service hours.
All volunteers will receive the necessary supplies, including gloves, bags, and pickers, courtesy of the City of DeSoto.
The event is open to all ages, with students especially encouraged to participate.
