The DeSoto Public Library announced a new partnership with She Supply, a North Texas-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing feminine hygiene products to women who cannot afford them.
The collaboration addresses a critical need for low-income women and girls in the region.
According to She Supply, 25% of women in North Texas face financial difficulties in purchasing essential hygiene products.
As a result, one in three low-income women miss work, and one in three low-income girls miss school each month due to a lack of access to feminine hygiene supplies.
The partnership with the DeSoto Public Library seeks to alleviate this issue within the community.
The DeSoto Public Library will serve as a donation drop-off site, where community members can contribute items such as tampons, pads, and other hygiene products.
The initiative will help ensure that women facing financial hardships do not have to choose between purchasing food and obtaining sanitary products.
Residents are encouraged to donate and participate in the cause to help improve the lives of women and girls in DeSoto and the broader North Texas area.
