In celebration of North Texas Giving Day, the Dallas Mavericks and Las Vegas Sands have united to support local communities with a generous $100,000 donation to For Oak Cliff.
For Oak Cliff is a nonprofit dedicated to education, advocacy, and community development in Dallas.
The collaboration between the Mavericks and Sands was marked by a visit to the For Oak Cliff community center, where leaders from both organizations toured the facility and learned about its various programs.
The visit included Sands President and Dallas Mavericks Governor Patrick Dumont, Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall, and For Oak Cliff Founder and CEO Taylor Toynes.
The visit showcased the center’s efforts to enrich the lives of Oak Cliff residents through education, the arts, and social services.
The Mavericks kicked off the donation with a $50,000 contribution, which was matched by Sands, bringing the total to $100,000.
These funds will be used to bolster For Oak Cliff’s initiatives aimed at empowering local families and building a stronger community.
“The Mavericks and Sands believe that giving back to the community is very important for both the community in which we operate and to demonstrate our core values,” said Dumont.
“For us to work with a great organization like For Oak Cliff and help further their mission is very important.”
This partnership highlights the growing collaboration between sports teams and businesses in Dallas to give back and create lasting change for underserved communities.
“This means that the Dallas Mavericks care about the community, that the leadership is invested in building real, authentic relationships with the community,” said Toynes.
“We are extremely grateful. Thank you so much for seeing us, for investing in us and providing these funds to serve our young people.”
For Oak Cliff’s programs focus on building equity through educational resources, advocacy efforts, and creative initiatives that provide residents with the tools they need to thrive.
As North Texas Giving Day continues to be a key moment for philanthropy in the region, partnerships like this one show how organizations can come together to drive meaningful change in their communities.
