Two Sisters Bakery in DeSoto has been named one of the top 10 finalists in a small business contest organized by the Dallas Cowboys and Lenovo.
The contest, part of Lenovo’s Evolve Small initiative, aims to support small businesses by providing them with technology boosts to help them grow.
Out of 894 small businesses nominated in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Two Sisters stood out as a finalist, an achievement that has generated considerable excitement for the bakery.
“It feels amazing, wonderful, because we received other recognitions and have been highlighted but to be recognized by Lenovo and the Dallas Cowboys organization is Amazing!” said Deidre Bledsoe.
“Just to be recognized for the work you’re doing and doing it from the heart, it means a lot. We’re just being us we’re being who we are.”
As part of the recognition, representatives from the Dallas Cowboys and Lenovo visited the bakery to present several gifts, including a technology package designed to enhance the bakery’s operations.
The visit also included a special appearance by Drew Pearson, the legendary former Dallas Cowboys player known as the Original #88.
In addition to the tech package, the bakery received tickets to the Cowboys vs. Saints game and VIP treatment in the Lenovo Cowboys Suite.
The bakery, a member of the DeSoto Area Chamber, has been operating in DeSoto for two and a half years and has been frequented by many residents.
Visits also include multiple city council members and DeSoto Mayor Rachel Proctor.
You’ll have ups and downs and that comes along with the territory but once you find your customers, once you find your people you make sure that you’re providing what you say you provide for them,” said Yolanda Bledsoe.
