This Saturday, residents across the metroplex are invited to the launch event for the “Cheaper Ride” app, a new transportation service designed to provide affordable rides for underserved communities in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
The event, hosted by C. Lee Transportation, will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at The DEC at Redbird, with a special champagne toast.
Attendees will have the chance to see a live demonstration of the app, meet founder Curtis Corbin, and network with other community members.
Refreshments will include drinks and light bites.
The event is open to community leaders, media, and local influencers, aiming to highlight the app’s potential impact on Dallas’s transportation landscape.
Curtis Corbin, founder of C. Lee Transportation, created the “Cheaper Ride” app in response to transportation barriers faced by many Dallas residents.
Inspired by rideshare models but priced more affordably, the app offers $5 round-trip rides across the DFW area, targeting individuals without reliable transportation access.
The app aims to support seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income residents who live outside public transit service areas.
Corbin’s commitment to transportation equity was evident when C. Lee Transportation assisted numerous Dallas residents in getting to polling locations.
Recognizing that transportation can be a major obstacle to voting and accessing essential services, Corbin developed “Cheaper Ride” to bridge this gap.
The app will provide dependable, affordable options for residents needing rides to work, medical appointments, schools, and more.
The “Cheaper Ride” app is available now on the Apple Store and Google Play, allowing Dallas residents to access a low-cost transportation option directly from their phones.
As Corbin explains, “Every Dallas resident deserves affordable transportation, regardless of income or location. With ‘Cheaper Ride,’ we’re committed to leveling the playing field.”
