DeSoto Police Arrest Two for Assault at Local Bowling Alley

Two men have been arrested after a disturbance Saturday night, Nov. 9, at a bowling alley in DeSoto led to an assault on security guards according to police.

DeSoto Police arrested two men Saturday night in connection with an assault on security guards at the AMF Lanes Bowling Alley.

Officers were dispatched to the bowling alley, located in the 100 block of Northgate Drive, at approximately 8:47 p.m. after receiving a report of a disturbance.

An unknown caller told dispatch that multiple unknown male suspects allegedly attacked two security guards working at the venue according to police.

Officers arrived on the scene around 8:50 p.m. and spotted a vehicle matching the description provided by witnesses.

Police confronted the suspects and apprehended two men attempting to leave the scene.

The suspects were identified as 39-year-old Mark Earl Calhoun of Dallas and 29-year-old Quincelle Chanard Jones of Cedar Hill.

Both men face initial charges of Assault on a Security Officer, a third-degree felony after they were identified by one of the victims and through a review of surveillance footage.

According to witness statements, the altercation began inside the bowling alley when two unknown women accompanying the suspects became involved in a dispute.

Security personnel reportedly intervened and escorted the women and the suspects outside the business.

As they exited, the two male suspects allegedly attacked the guards.

The security officers suffered from non-life-threatening injuries.

One guard did require hospital treatment.

The DeSoto Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
