The City of DeSoto and the DeSoto Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed the Denise Valentine Foundation, its newest member, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Denise Valentine Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, recognizes and elevates community service efforts in DeSoto.
Held at the DAC headquarters, the ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together community leaders and residents in a celebration of service.
The Foundation was greeted with open arms as city council members and Mayor Rachel L. Proctor expressed their enthusiastic support.
“We’re just so excited to be with you on the inaugural launch of this vision,” said Mayor Proctor.
“We know that it’s going to impact so many lives and we cannot wait to see the impact that it’s going to continue to have on DeSoto for years to come.”
Founded by longtime DeSoto resident Denise Valentine, who previously served as Mayor Pro Tem and City Council Member, the Foundation is positioned to recognize and empower local volunteers and organizations committed to improving the community.
With the inaugural DeSoto Vantage Day, hosted by the Denise Valentine Foundation in recognition of Denise Valentine Day on December 19th, the Foundation seeks to unite DeSoto residents in supporting volunteer initiatives.
In addition to promoting community service and involvement, The Denise Valentine Foundation is partnering with local businesses and community members to raise funds towards scholarship efforts for seniors with the most community service hours living in the city of DeSoto.
The Foundation’s membership in the Chamber signifies a strengthened partnership between the nonprofit and the DeSoto business community.
