Celebrating National Twin Day: The Unbreakable Bond of Pauline Trice and Carline Gray

National Twin Day, celebrated on Dec. 18, honors the unique and enduring connections twins share. Few exemplify this bond better than Pauline Trice and Carline Gray.

At 82 years old, the Dallas-born sisters continue to showcase their unbreakable bond while enjoying life together in their hometown.

“It’s a blessing to have a sister and a best friend,” said Pauline. “It’s a blessing to be a twin.”

Known locally as “The Burton Twins,” Pauline and Carline share a story that beautifully reflects the strength of sisterhood and the importance of family.

“I think you should always be loving and forgiving,” Pauline explained. “People are human, and they make mistakes. You might not always agree, but you still love your family.”

The dynamic duo shares a beautifully designed apartment filled with laughter and cherished memories.

Their charm and connection have even influenced their neighbors. Carline’s gentleman friend, Kevin, loved the residence so much during a visit that he decided to move in just down the hall.

Throughout their lives, Pauline and Carline have demonstrated a bond that goes beyond the ordinary.

Once, when Carline fell off her bike, Pauline passed out at the exact moment, seemingly feeling her sister’s pain.

Their close relationship and striking resemblance have also brought them local recognition.

The twins have won the “Most Lookalike” contest at the State Fair of Texas three times and have participated in parades and events across the region.

“We had just gone to the state fair, and someone asked us if we had registered for the contest because we’re twins,” Pauline recalled.

“For three years, we won the ‘Most Lookalike’ award in our age group,” added Carline.

Pauline explained that after their wins, they were approached to appear in a movie, leading the pair to make brief appearances as extras in one of John Goodman’s early films.

Their foray into entertainment further cemented their legacy as one of Dallas’ most celebrated twin pairs.
