Eight student bands from the Lake Highlands School of Music (LHSM) are set to take the stage at this year’s annual Spring Showcase in 2025.
The event is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, at the Deep Ellum Art Company.
It will feature the largest music school for students in East Dallas.
The school plans to perform a mix of rock, pop, and R&B covers, offering a concert-style experience rather than a traditional recital.
Students will perform in front of family, friends, and the community, showcasing months of dedication and hard work.

“The Lake Highlands School of Music Performance Program is all about helping students grow into confident musicians, and our upcoming concert is the perfect way to celebrate their hard work,” said Zach Galindo, founder of the school. “It’s a celebration of talent, passion, and dedication.”
Among the performing groups is Ben’s Rags, a student-led band that has played throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 2018.
The band has performed at popular venues such as the Dallas Arboretum Amphitheater, Oak Highlands Brewery, and Vector Brewing Company.
LHSM students also participate in private events, galas, and corporate parties.
Local musicians play a key role in nurturing student talent.

Dallas drummer Joe James will lead six of the student bands at the showcase, while guitarist and teacher Spencer Kenney will guide the remaining two.
Family, friends, and the community are invited to experience the magic of the Lake Highlands School of Music Performance bands on March 30.
Not only will it be a head-bobbing, toe-tapping, finger-snapping good time, but also a day filled with inspiration, admiration, and empowerment for all the hard work the students have poured into the showcase.
General admission tickets are available online for $13 and at the door for $17. Proceeds from the event will support LHSM’s programs and initiatives.
