Experience Soulful Jazz from The OT Conekshun in DeSoto

Get Conekted with the soulful sounds of jazz from The OT Conekshun, a local band as they prepare to host “The Get Conekted Concert Series” on March 14 at 8 p.m. at the DeSoto Corner Theater.

The concert will feature Vandell Andrew, a Billboard #1 chart-topping saxophonist and Soul Train Award nominee for Best Contemporary Jazz Performance.

The event is more than just a night of music—it’s a call to action for the community.

“The Get Conekted Concert Series is designed to raise awareness about key issues affecting DeSoto residents, including healthcare access, food insecurity, educational initiatives, homelessness, and economic development,” said Elliott Dunn, music director and partner of The OT Conekshun. Proceeds will support local organizations working to address these challenges.”

The event is hosted by The OT Conekshun, a rising local band formed by Otis “OT” Tarkington and Elliott Dunn. Known for their engaging performances and commitment to social causes, the duo has embraced the motto “making CONEKSHUNs through music.”

“We believe in the power of music to help make connections and drive change,” said Otis “OT” Tarkington, founder of The OT Conekshun.

“Through ‘The Get Conekted Concert Series,’ we aim to unite our community and highlight the efforts of those tirelessly working to improve our town.”

Elliott Dunn, music director and partner of The OT Conekshun, added, “This concert is more than just an evening of jazz – it’s a call to action. We hope to inspire our community to support local organizations and become active participants in addressing the issues we all face.”
