DeSoto to Host its First Asian American Pacific Islander Festival

The city of DeSoto is set to host its inaugural Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Festival on Saturday, May 17, at the DeSoto Amphitheater.

The event is free and open to the public, running from noon to 7 p.m.

The family-friendly celebration honors the cultures, histories, and contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities through a day filled with live performances, food, music, and cultural showcases.

Guests can expect a full lineup of activities, including:

  • Traditional cultural performances featuring dance and music from various AAPI communities;
  • A diverse selection of authentic cuisine offered by local food vendors.
  • Live music from a range of artists and genres.
  • Interactive activities for families and children; and
  • A curated marketplace of local vendors, artists, and AAPI-owned businesses.

The festival is a way to bring people together, promote cultural awareness, and foster inclusivity in DeSoto.

The city of DeSoto hosts the event and is part of a broader effort to spotlight cultural heritage through public arts and community programming.
