MIDLOTHIAN, Texas  — A Houston man has pleaded guilty in federal court to his role in a brazen “jugging” robbery that targeted an ATM technician outside a Chase Bank in Midlothian last summer, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Chad E. Meacham announced.

Johnny Juwan Clark, 32, admitted to participating in the July 3, 2024, robbery in which nearly a quarter of a million dollars was stolen during a violent ambush.

Clark pleaded guilty to a charge of interference with commerce by robbery before Senior U.S. District Judge Barbara M.G. Lynn on April 22.

According to court documents, Clark—masked and wearing a hoodie—approached a technician servicing an ATM around 5:35 p.m. and forced him to the ground.

Clark held his fist to the back of the victim’s head to simulate a weapon, while co-conspirators removed canisters containing approximately $247,000 in cash from the machine.

Surveillance footage captured the robbery, and Clark later admitted he was the person seen restraining the technician.

After the robbery, Clark and two co-defendants fled the scene in a rental car and met a fourth accomplice nearby.

The stolen cash was transferred to a Range Rover and driven back to Houston.

Federal investigators linked Clark and his co-defendants—Corey Dashun Holloway, Tierra Toneisha Brandyberg and Roosevelt Ford Valentine—to a Houston-based criminal group known as the Hiram Clarke Money Team.

Authorities describe the group as a theft ring that regularly travels outside Houston to commit jugging-style robberies and similar crimes.

In December 2024, all four individuals were named in a superseding indictment for their roles in the Midlothian robbery.

Clark now faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000. His sentencing is scheduled for July 28, 2025.

Brandyberg has notified the court of her intent to plead guilty, though a date for her rearraignment has not been set.

Holloway and Valentine are scheduled to face a jury trial in September 2025.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rick Calvert and investigated by the FBI’s Dallas Field Office.

What Is ‘Jugging’?
Jugging is a form of robbery in which suspects surveil and follow victims after they withdraw or handle large amounts of cash—often at banks or ATMs—then use force or intimidation to commit theft.
