NFL superstar, Super Bowl MVP, and DeSoto native Von Miller returned home this past weekend to lead the 8th Annual Von Miller Day.
The event provides an uplifting day of service, celebration, and vision care that leaves a lasting mark on the community that shaped him.
Hosted on Saturday, April 26, at Zieger Park, the day featured free family-friendly activities, including games, bounce houses, a Game Truck, giveaways, and food from local vendors.
But the event’s highlight came from Miller’s nonprofit, Von’s Vision Foundation, which teamed up with GlassesUSA.com to provide local students with free comprehensive eye exams and prescription eyewear.
More than 80 students between the ages of 3 and 17 received full eye exams, and 69 students were provided with a total of 138 pairs of glasses—each child selecting two stylish frames at no cost.
A mobile eye clinic was on-site throughout the day, ensuring accessible, high-quality vision care directly in the heart of the community.
This year’s celebration also included a ceremonial recognition of Von Miller Day by city and district leaders, as well as special appearances by Miller at DeSoto High School.
Founded in 2012, Von’s Vision has provided more than $6 million in vision care to over 10,000 students across the U.S.
GlassesUSA.com, known for its affordable and stylish online eyewear, sponsored the full cost of exams and glasses for the DeSoto event and collaborated with Miller on a limited-edition eyewear collection supporting the foundation’s work.
