Award-winning media executive Caroline A. Wanga, co-founder of WangaWoman and president & CEO of Essence Ventures, will deliver the keynote address at The African Think Tank’s second annual Ubuntu Fundraising Gala on Nov. 15 in Grand Prairie, Texas.
The gala, which celebrates African culture and community, will take place from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Ruthe Jackson Center.
The event will feature a VIP reception, gourmet African cuisine, a fashion show, and live performances.
Wanga, an Anthem Award winner and Texas College HBCU graduate, is expected to share a message of unity and inspiration.
The theme, “Ubuntu,” meaning “I am, because we are,” reflects the organization’s commitment to shared humanity and cultural connection.

“For many individuals of African descent and friends of Africa, connecting with African heritage has often felt distant and out of reach,” said Dr. Sidonie Niba, founder and CEO of The African Think Tank.
“That’s why bringing the Ubuntu Gala to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the second year in a row is so powerful — and having Caroline Wanga join us as our keynote speaker makes it even more extraordinary.”
Niba praised Wanga as a symbol of “brilliance, resilience and authenticity,” adding that her presence will inspire deeper connections within the African diaspora.
The gala’s leadership includes Event Chair Akwete Tyehimba, owner and co-founder of Pan-African Connection, along with Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen and Councilman Junior Ezeonu.
“My heart is full, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to chair this gala,” Tyehimba said.
“The work that The African Think Tank does throughout the nation is so important and critical to our advancement as a community.”
Ezeonu echoed the sentiment, calling the organization “a beacon of transformation for the African diaspora.”
Attendees are encouraged to wear regal African or formal attire.
Sponsorship levels range from $250 to $15,000, with individual ticket sales announced at a later date. Proceeds will support The African Think Tank’s initiatives.
