Newrain Threading Salon celebrated its grand opening in DeSoto over Labor Day weekend with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community festivities, marking the latest expansion of a growing North Texas beauty brand.
The new salon, located at 204 E. Pleasant Run Road, Suite 112, opened with four days of events from Aug. 29 through Sept. 1.
Guests received complimentary eyebrow threading and henna tattoos, along with raffles, giveaways, food, and music from a live DJ.
A 20 percent discount on all services was also offered throughout the opening weekend.
Mayor Pro Tem Crystal Chism and Councilmember Deborah North joined the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce for the ribbon-cutting.

The DeSoto location is operated locally by Devia and her son Rohan Napal, who said the family sees the business as more than just a salon.
“We came with a special purpose to DeSoto, with a special mission,” Napal said. “We wanted to bring professionalism and luxury to DeSoto, to the people of DeSoto, to change the face of beauty salons here.”
Founded by beauty entrepreneur Newrain Ghimire, the salon chain has built a reputation in Texas for threading, waxing, and facials.
Ghimire opened her first location in Arlington in 2014 after beginning her career as an eyebrow technician.
With the support of her husband, Ramesh, she expanded into Grand Prairie and other areas of Dallas–Fort Worth.
Today, Newrain Threading Salon operates multiple locations, including DeSoto, with franchise opportunities extending the brand’s reach.
With the new opening, residents in DeSoto and surrounding communities can now access the salon’s signature services, provided by a team of trained technicians focused on quality, luxury and affordability.
