Two people were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after leading DeSoto police on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash along Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway in Dallas.
According to the DeSoto Police Department, officers with the Bravo Shift located a stolen red 2014 Toyota RAV4 around 4:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Danieldale Road.
The vehicle, reported stolen out of Dallas, sped away as officers approached.
Police pursued the suspects east into Dallas, where the driver lost control and crashed in the 3900 block of LBJ Freeway.
Officers apprehended the driver, identified as 25-year-old Javier Ramirez of Dallas, at the scene. An adult female passenger was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
No injuries were reported, and the stolen vehicle was recovered.
DeSoto police commended the coordinated effort of responding officers and reminded residents to stay alert and report suspicious activity.
