The City of DeSoto is offering a limited number of discounted memberships for its new Aquatic and Recreation Center as construction nears completion and community interest continues to grow.
Beginning Friday, Dec. 19, the next 250 base annual memberships for the ARC at McCowan Park will be available at a 25% discount.
City officials said the promotion follows the rapid sellout of the initial founding member offer, which was claimed in less than 48 hours.
The 75,000-square-foot facility, scheduled to open in April, is designed as a multi-generational destination focused on health, wellness and recreation.
The ARC will include fitness and strength training areas, a full-court gymnasium with an indoor track, a family leisure pool, an eight-lane competition pool, and meeting and social spaces.
Members who enroll during the current promotion will receive a complimentary fitness pass to the DeSoto Town Center Recreation Center until the ARC opens.
The membership will then extend through April 2027, providing a full year of access once the facility becomes operational.
City Manager Majed Al-Ghafry said the demand reflects strong community interest in expanded recreational opportunities.
“The response to our founding member launch exceeded all expectations,” said City Manager Majed Al-Ghafry.
“This next release gives more families the opportunity to commit to healthier lifestyles in the new year and be part of the ARC’s inaugural chapter, but availability is limited and these memberships will go quickly.”
The ARC is also expected to serve as a regional draw, with space designed to host tournaments and competitive events that bring visitors to DeSoto and the surrounding Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The discounted rate applies only to base annual memberships and is limited to the next 250 enrollments.
There is no set end date for the offer, which will close once all discounted memberships are claimed. Optional add-on services are available for an additional cost.
