DeSoto Police are investigating a shooting that took place at an apartment complex early Saturday morning.
The shooting took place in the 2400 block of Bolton Boone Drive at around 4 a.m., according to a news release.
Officers responded to the scene and located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm, according to police.
The victim was given aid by responding officers and was transported to a local hospital by paramedics.
The victim was in his vehicle at the apartment complex when he was approached by a man wearing a pink medical mask and brandishing a rifle, according to police.
The suspect threatened the victim and opened fire on the man, striking the victim in the arm, police said.
Both the victim and the suspect fought and struggled over the weapon, according to police.
The suspect then fled in the victim’s vehicle.
The vehicle has since been recovered by the DeSoto Police Department and was located not far from the initial attack, according to police.
The suspect is described as a slender, light-completed African American man standing approximately 6-foot-tall, police said.
The incident is under investigation.
