DeSoto ISD and Area Pastors Address Social Media Threats

DeSoto ISD Superintendent Dr. Usamah Rogers, alongside local area pastors, held a press conference to address the alarming rise in social media threats among teens in North Texas school districts.

The call-to-action for peace comes as Justin F. Kimball High School scholar-athlete David Washington was shot and killed at an area gas station along with a stream of social media threats posted with references to his legacy–#LLD10.

The leaders expressed deep concern for student safety and called for immediate action from both the community and parents to curb online behavior that could lead to violence.
