Texas Works, a tuition-free program that combines high school completion with career training, has opened a new campus in DeSoto to expand opportunities for adult learners in North Texas.
The campus, located inside Premiere High School at 929 West Belt Line Road, hosted an enrollment event to introduce the community to its programs and facility.
The event featured campus tours, a chance to meet DeSoto Campus Director Georgetta Reed, Ph.D., and information sessions on available certifications.
Texas Works, part of the ResponsiveEd charter school network, serves adults aged 18 to 50 who are seeking to earn a high school diploma rather than a GED while completing industry-recognized credentials.
The program uses a mastery-based, flexible curriculum designed to help students progress at their own pace while balancing family and work responsibilities.
Among its career offerings, the DeSoto campus highlighted its Phlebotomy Technician program, which has already produced 10 graduates now employed in healthcare roles.
Building on that momentum, the campus also offers a law program to meet the rising demand for skilled professionals in the field.
Texas Works also offers certifications in areas such as medical assisting, electrical work, automotive repair, drone piloting and pharmacy technology across its campuses statewide.
These programs are designed to connect learners directly to high-demand jobs and strengthen the Texas workforce.
By blending diploma completion with career pathways, Texas Works aims to create sustainable opportunities for students while meeting the needs of local employers.
