The American Airlines Center will be the epicenter of high-energy basketball, music and star power Sunday, Aug. 17, as the BIG3 Playoffs tip off alongside a star-studded celebrity game and a special appearance by league co-founder Ice Cube.
The event promises a triple dose of entertainment, three games, one ticket, blending elite competition, celebrity appearances and live performances into a must-see for Dallas sports fans.
In the opening playoff game, the Chicago Triplets will take on the LA Riot.
The second playoff contest will pit Miami 305 against the hometown team, Dallas Power.
Both games will showcase former NBA standouts, including Greg Monroe, Michael Beasley and Lance Stephenson, battling for a spot in the BIG3 championship.
Fans can expect the league’s trademark mix of physicality, skill and intensity as teams fight for playoff survival.
Between the playoff action, the celebrity game will feature Team Cube versus Team Clyde, with rosters that include former NFL stars Dez Bryant and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, along with media personalities Gillie and Wallo.
The exhibition promises a lighter, yet competitive atmosphere and plenty of entertainment for fans.
Music fans will also be treated to live performances by Dallas favorite BigXthaPlug and Flippa T, bringing a festival-like energy to the arena.
In addition, Ice Cube will sign autographs when doors open at 1 p.m. CT. The session will be first-come, first-served, with limited availability.
The first game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. CT. For fans unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast live on CBS at 3 p.m. ET.
With playoff drama, celebrity flair, live music and a chance to meet Ice Cube, this year’s BIG3 postseason in Dallas is shaping up to be one of the most dynamic sports events of the summer.
Winners will head to Florida to play for the championship, which will be preceded by the All-Star Game.
