LEWISVILLE, Texas — Responsive Education Solutions (ResponsiveEd), one of the nation’s largest charter school operators, has been awarded a $72 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to expand access to high-quality public charter schools across Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, and Ohio.
The award is part of the Department’s record-breaking $500 million investment in the federal Charter Schools Program, is the largest allocation in the program’s history.
It is aimed at expanding educational choice and improving student outcomes nationwide.
“This grant affirms the value of the education, choice, and results ResponsiveEd delivers to families,” said Chuck Cook, CEO of ResponsiveEd. “For over 25 years, we have provided innovative, personalized learning environments, and we are excited to expand our impact, helping more students reach their goals, succeed academically, and transform their futures across four states.”
ResponsiveEd plans to use the funding to increase capacity, expand access, and improve student outcomes, particularly in underserved communities.
The funds will support the launch of new campuses, enhance instructional development and program delivery, broaden PreK opportunities, and introduce a new parent support toolkit.
According to the Department of Education, the Charter Schools Program (CSP) grants are designed to strengthen infrastructure and ensure more students can attend high-performing public schools that meet their individual learning needs.
“A one-size-fits-all education system is not working for our students,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon in the announcement. “Charter schools allow for innovative educational models that expand learning opportunities for students. The Trump Administration will continue to use every available tool to advocate for meaningful learning, advance school choice, and ensure every student is well-positioned to succeed.”
