Harbor Freight Tools, one of the nation’s leading discount tool retailers, has announced plans to open a new store in DeSoto later this fall.
The new location, situated at 633 N. Interstate 35E, is currently under construction, with work being carried out by local contractors and businesses.
According to the company, the store is expected to open in late fall, with an official grand opening date to be announced soon.
The expansion marks another step in Harbor Freight’s ongoing growth across North Texas, as it continues to make tools and equipment more accessible to both professional tradespeople and everyday do-it-yourselfers.
“We’ve been looking to open another location in DeSoto for a number of years so that we can provide tools and equipment at tremendous values to the community,” said Trey Feiler, senior vice president of real estate and construction for Harbor Freight, in the company’s announcement. “In addition to finding a great location, we were attracted by the availability of great associates in the DeSoto area, and we look forward to having them join the Harbor Freight team.”
The new store is expected to create 25 to 30 jobs, including positions for sales and logistics supervisors, senior associates, and seasonal staff.
Company officials said Harbor Freight offers competitive starting wages, comprehensive health benefits, and paid holidays on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Harbor Freight, which operates more than 1,600 stores nationwide and employs over 26,000 associates, has more than 2,000 workers in Texas alone.
The retailer is known for its affordable pricing on a wide range of tools and equipment used in automotive, construction, maintenance, and home improvement work.
