DALLAS — Restaurant owners, entrepreneurs and aspiring business leaders will gather later this month for the Southern Taste of Dallas Restaurant and Resource Expo, an event focused on helping local businesses grow through education, networking and industry collaboration.
The free event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at The Shops at RedBird, 3662 W. Camp Wisdom Road, in Dallas. Organizers are encouraging attendees to register in advance.
A featured attraction of the expo will be a panel discussion titled “Building Brands and Breaking Barriers,” bringing together several North Texas business leaders to share their experiences building successful brands and overcoming challenges in the food and hospitality industries.
The panel is expected to feature:
- Tiffany Derry, chef and owner of Roots Southern Table.
- Marissa Allen, owner of Cookie Society.
- Roland Truitt, co-owner of Wings World.
- Brent Reaves, co-owner of Smokey John’s BBQ.
- Mahiri Takai, NBC brand strategist and moderator.
In addition to the panel discussion, the expo is designed to connect restaurant owners, food entrepreneurs and small-business owners with resources, vendors and organizations that support business development.
The event is presented by Another Dallas Texas Check and powered by Breakfast Brothers. Sponsors include U.S. Foods, Dallas College, SpotOn, the Texas Restaurant Association and Uber Eats.
Organizers say the expo aims to provide opportunities for attendees to connect, learn and grow while strengthening Dallas’ restaurant and small-business community.
