EULESS, Texas — Milwaukee Bucks center and North Texas native Myles Turner is continuing a series of major investments in the communities that helped shape him, pledging $2 million to Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD while adding his name to a new athletic facility at his former high school.
Turner signed a sponsorship and pledge agreement with the district Monday, Sept. 14.
The commitment will provide $2 million over the next 20 years and is expected to benefit athletic programs at every HEB ISD middle school and both of the district’s high schools.
As part of the agreement, the new arena at Trinity High School has been renamed Myles Turner Fieldhouse.
Turner graduated from Trinity in 2014 after developing into one of the country’s top high school basketball prospects.
The Bedford native was selected as a McDonald’s All-American before playing one season at the University of Texas.
The Indiana Pacers selected Turner with the 11th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft.
He spent 10 seasons with Indiana, becoming the franchise’s career leader in blocked shots and helping the Pacers reach the 2025 NBA Finals before joining Milwaukee in free agency.
Turner’s latest investment also includes support beyond athletics. He donated an additional $15,000 to Trinity High School’s visual and performing arts department.
The contribution comes just weeks after Turner made another major commitment in North Texas.
On Sept. 1, Turner’s W.A.R.M. Foundation — Work As Role Models — pledged $1 million to Dallas-based nonprofit Empowering the Masses, which provides food assistance, workforce training and other services to families in the Dallas area.
The pledge is structured to provide $100,000 annually for 10 years, helping support Empowering the Masses’ community market and its efforts to address food insecurity.
The investment is expected to help the organization continue providing food assistance to hundreds of families each week.
Turner’s relationship with Empowering the Masses dates back several years.
In 2021, he helped raise and contribute money to the organization as North Texas residents dealt with the effects of Winter Storm Uri.
Combined, the two commitments announced this month represent at least $3 million in long-term investments by Turner in North Texas education, athletics and community services.
For Turner, the HEB ISD agreement also brings his professional success back to the community where his basketball career began.
His No. 33 jersey was retired by Trinity in 2016, and he was inducted into the HEB ISD Hall of Fame in 2023.
Now, the district’s new basketball facility will carry his name as future generations of student-athletes compete there.
