The Dallas Cowboys were seven seconds from overtime Sunday in Rio de Janeiro. Instead, one Baltimore completion and one long field goal turned a hard-fought comeback into a 34-31 loss that left Cowboys Nation with a bitter ending to replay.
Brandon Aubrey had tied the game with a 23-yard field goal after Dallas reached the Ravens’ 2-yard line but failed to score a touchdown.
Lamar Jackson then found Zay Flowers for 27 yards. Baltimore called timeout with one second left, and Tyler Loop, a Dallas native, made a 56-yard field goal for the win.
The Cowboys led 10-0 early before mistakes helped Baltimore build a 24-13 advantage.
Jake Ferguson lost a fumble in Ravens territory, and Aubrey’s 59-yard attempt was blocked.
Dallas rallied on Prescott’s 19-yard touchdown pass to Ferguson and a two-point conversion to CeeDee Lamb.
After a fourth-down goal-line stand, momentum swung the Cowboys way as Dallas drove 96 yards, with KaVontae Turpin’s 9-yard touchdown run putting the Cowboys ahead 28-24.
Jackson answered with a touchdown pass to Matt Hibner, leaving Prescott 90 seconds to respond. He got Dallas into scoring position, but the final drive produced only the tying kick.
Prescott completed 25 of 40 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown. Lamb had 112 receiving yards, Javonte Williams rushed for 98, and Dallas gained 415 total yards. Baltimore rushed for 192 yards.
Dallas fell to 1-2 and for fans, the frustration lies in how much the Cowboys overcame and just how little time the Ravens needed to take the win.
