FORT WORTH, Texas — Dinosaurs are set to take over downtown Fort Worth in October as Jurassic Quest brings its traveling prehistoric experience to the Fort Worth Convention Center for a three-day run.
Jurassic Quest is scheduled for Oct. 2-4 at the convention center, 1201 Houston St.
The family-oriented event features life-size animatronic dinosaurs, interactive science activities and attractions designed primarily for younger visitors.
Visitors will be able to walk among dinosaur models, including a 60-foot Spinosaurus, an 80-foot Apatosaurus and a life-size Tyrannosaurus rex, according to Jurassic Quest.
The event also includes baby dinosaur encounters, dinosaur shows and fossil-related activities.
Children can participate in science stations, crafts, building activities and a Tricera-TOTS play area.
Upgraded child admission includes additional attractions such as dinosaur rides, fossil digs, inflatables and the T.Wrecks Jeep Adventure.
Organizers are also promoting additional prehistoric exhibits called Ancient Oceans and Frozen Frontier.
Ancient Oceans focuses on prehistoric marine life, including the Megalodon, while Frozen Frontier introduces visitors to Ice Age animals such as saber-toothed cats, dire wolves and giant ground sloths.
A sensory- and mobility-friendly session is scheduled from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday.
Jurassic Quest says the session will feature reduced audio, brighter lighting and limited attendance to provide a less stimulating environment for visitors with sensory or mobility needs.
Event hours are 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Children younger than 2 are admitted free, while guests ages 2 and older require a ticket.
