GARLAND, Texas — A shooting outside a Garland home Sunday morning left three men dead, and police said the violence may have stemmed from a dispute that began the previous night.
Officers responded about 7:45 a.m. to a report of a fight in progress in the 400 block of Bay Shore Drive, according to the Garland Police Department.
They found three men outside a residence with gunshot wounds and two of the men were pronounced dead at the scene according to police.
Police initially said the third man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but the department later confirmed that he died.
Garland police spokesperson Pedro Barineau said investigators believe the three men knew one another, though their exact relationships remain under unclear.
Barineau said the shooting may have followed a disturbance the previous night that carried over into Sunday morning.
Investigators learned that two vehicles left before officers arrived. Officers found both vehicles and detained several occupants for questioning. Police said those detained were cooperating and providing information.
The department has not publicly identified a suspected shooter, disclosed how many people may have fired weapons or provided details about the dispute.
Police said they did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the public and detectives were reviewing evidence and seeking surveillance video that could help determine what happened.
