DALLAS — Professional 3-on-3 basketball is returning to Dallas this summer as the BIG3 releases its 2026 schedule, bringing one of the league’s regular-season stops back to North Texas.
The league’s ninth season begins June 20 in Los Angeles and features 13 dates across nine cities, including Dallas.
The condensed format places added importance on every game, as teams have limited opportunities to recover from losses before the postseason race intensifies.
Founded in 2017 by rapper, actor and entrepreneur Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz, the BIG3 has established itself as a summer basketball alternative featuring former NBA players, international professionals and other veteran athletes competing in a fast-paced 3-on-3 format.
Dallas basketball fans will once again have the opportunity to see the powerhouse summer league in person as part of the nationwide tour.
The city’s inclusion on the schedule reflects the league’s continued commitment to expanding its presence in major basketball markets.
“We have great fans throughout the league, and now that we’re playing in these cities, we just expect the excitement to grow and grow,” Ice Cube said in an interview with Bleacher Report following the schedule announcement.
The league’s shortened schedule creates a sense of urgency that differs from traditional professional basketball seasons.
With only 13 dates on the calendar, every game carries significant weight in the standings and playoff race.
The BIG3 has continued to evolve since its launch nearly a decade ago, attracting former NBA standouts and basketball veterans while building a dedicated fan base across the country.
League officials are optimistic that the 2026 season will continue that momentum.
“It’s going to be great. We’re going to have a great season,” Ice Cube told Bleacher Report. “This league gets better and better every year.”
The Dallas stop is expected to draw basketball fans looking for offseason action following the conclusion of the NBA season.
The league’s unique format, combined with the old-school style of play and recognizable former professional players, has helped make the BIG3 a fixture on the summer sports calendar.
The 2026 BIG3 season tips off June 20 in Los Angeles and will travel through nine host cities before concluding with the league championship later this summer.
